Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her which included an Oscar. In her early years, the accomplished actress began acting on stage in a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Acting has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original production. The mumps that she contracted left her blind and deaf in the one ear. But she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. In her early years, she studied drama in the college level and then moved to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to pursue her ambitions. Hunter was trapped in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. She has since appeared in a variety of television series and movies in a long career that spans over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received the Women in Film Lucy Award.
